CONFIGURATION ANALYSIS SERVICE
The Configuration Analysis Service (CAS) collects system configuration information. This information is used to profile the server environment and provide detailed hardware and software configuration information.
CAS: CUSTOMER META-DATA
Work with the customer to agree and populate central Master Server List (MSL) with meta-data which can be exploited for all analysis and reporting deliverables: This might include:
- Datacentre.
- Function.
- Business criticality.
- Application service.
- Server type: – e.g. physical, virtual, appliance.
- Business owner.
Meta-data can be exploited as dynamic filters to provide summaries based on business defined criteria.
Can be synchronised with an existing CMDB.
CAS: CONFIGURATION PROFILES
Detailed infrastructure inventory including:
- System configuration and operating system.
- Software inventory.
- Software features.
- Virtual infrastructure inventory: HyperV and VirtualCenter.
- IP addresses configured and associated NICs.
- Attached storage devices.
- Running services and processes.
- Network shares.
- Attached disks and utilisation.
- Login history.
